Lidia Budziszewska completed her bilingual English-Polish high school education in the Marie Curie Liceum Szczecin. She went on to study psychology and Polish language and literature at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan. It was during her year of Erasmus at the Complutense University of Madrid when she decided to settle in Spain. She participated in a European Volunteer Service project for the NGO “Colega” (Collective of Gays and Lesbians), joining the organization as a Psychologist and European project coordinator.

During her training in clinical psychology, she became interested in addictions (chemical and non-chemical), and carried out internships in various treatment centers.

She continued her training in Spain, earning a Master Degree from the Complutense University of Madrid in Women and Health. She also obtained an International Master in Contextual Therapies from the ACT Institute where she learned evidence-based cognitive- behavioural treatments such as: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Functional Analysis Psychotherapy (FAP) and Mindfulness Interventions.

Since then she has attended multiple international workshops, training and supervisions with e.g. Dermot y Yvonne Barnes-Holmes, Joanne Dahl, Russ Harris, Kelly Wilson, Niklas Törneke and Robyn Walser.

Lidia is the Vicepresident of the ACPCC- Spanish Chapter of ACBS Association for Contextual Behavioral Science.

She currently combines her private practice at Sinews with counseling services to the student body of Saint Louis University, teaching position in Universidad Europea de Madrid and a Research Project at UAL University.

As an expatriate and member of a bicultural family, Lidia has experienced firsthand the difficulties and challenges faced by people who do not reside in their country of origin, or form part of a bicultural couple.
