  • Bachelor’s Degree in psychology at the European University of Madrid.
  • Master’s Degree in General Health Psychology at the European University of Madrid.
  • "Master's Degree in Applied Behavior Analysis in a Therapeutic Context" from the Therapeutic Institute of Madrid.

Sara was born and raised in Oslo, Norway, in a family with passion for sports and outdoors activities. From an early age Sara started with different sports like handball, running, athletics, riding, gymnastics and playing the piano. When she graduated from high school Sara knew she wanted to leave Oslo to experience something different. She went to something called a “Folkehøgskule” in Norway where young people can join different groups or classes like skiing, hiking or learning how to fly a paraglider with other young adults. A year filled with adventure and friendship, and no grades or test! Sara learnt how to fly a paraglider and with 15 other students she went to Mexico to fly. That was quite a (dangerous) adventure!

Sara decided to pursue her dream of becoming a psychologist and moved to Madrid for a 6 yearlong study. Studying abroad changed her life significantly and opened doors to new possibilities, both in her career and in relation to her personal life. She experienced the challenges and the sense of mastery and development by moving to new places, building new friendships, adapting to different cultures, missing family and friends, learning a new language, feeling uncertainty and really stepping out of her comfort zone.

During her time in Madrid Sara completed two Masters: General Health Psychology (UEM) and «Master’s in Applied Behavior Analysis in a Therapeutic Context» from Instituto Terapeutico de Madrid (ITEMA). This was a very challenging time; long school days, studying in Spanish and a heavy workload. At the same time it was an educational, exciting and inspirational time to Sara. In addition to her profession, Sara gained many wonderful friends and people in her life due to the decision of moving to Madrid, and a new passion, salsa dancing!

Sara has worked both in the private and public sector, both in Norway and Spain, mainly with individual therapy but also with group therapy. She has experience working with mainly adolescents and adults with various types of problems including anxiety, burn-out, obsessive thoughts and behaviors, self-esteem issues, eating problems and low mood and sadness.

Sara thoroughly enjoys working with group therapy sessions. In prior group experiences she has focused on enhancing self-esteem, teaching stress-management, introducing mindfulness and breath-work practices, and addressing cognitive challenges such as persistent overthinking and rumination. Group therapy, she believes, is a highly effective and collaborative means of addressing a multitude of common problems. In fact, she has observed that, for some individuals, achieving progress and attaining therapeutic goals is often easier and more effective when working within a group context.

Sara’s work method is based on a scientific, individualized, and holistic approach. This means that she can tailor tools and techniques based on your history, personality, interests, and needs, while the professional framework is grounded in established scientific principles.

We all have the capacity and opportunity to change and grow. The secret is to create an environment that can foster transformation. In therapy, we do this by establishing a strong relationship between client and therapist, analyzing the problem from a behavioral perspective and selecting appropriate techniques and methods based on that specific and personalized analysis. It is fundamental to understand that change requires focused effort, both from client and therapist. Sara offers therapy in Norwegian, English and Spanish.

«Most of us will experience difficult thoughts, emotions, and life situations. Fortunately, we don’t have to face them alone. A warm and supportive conversation together with a well-thought-out plan for the way forward will create hope, strength, and new opportunities”.
