Carmen Irene de Lisa Marques Venezuela-Portugal Psychologist Adolescents and children Languages: Spanish, English and Portuguese
Throughout her career, she had the opportunity to evaluate and provide psychological support to children with special needs in public schools, NGOs and Specialized Centers in the public scope. After completing her undergraduate studies, she came to Spain to complete a Master's Degree in Psychological and Educational Intervention, at the University of Navarra, Pamplona. Here she carried out her practices in a concerted school for children with special needs, supporting attention in the classroom, creating agendas, organizing activities, training the children with sensory stimulation as well as intervening for the resolution of interpersonal and daily life problems. Upon her return to Venezuela, she had the opportunity to work in a specialized association in which she provided psychological and educational support to children with learning disabilities and ADHD. At the same time, she was part of a multidisciplinary team at a private center where she would carry out psychoeducational evaluations and providing psychotherapy for children, adolescents and their families. In this environment, she attended a variety of reasons for consultation such as behavior problems, anxiety, emotional difficulties, adaptation problems, grief, difficulties related to social skills ... During her last years of experience in her home country she worked as a psychologist in a private school where she worked with children between 1 to 12 years old. One of the tasks she especially enjoyed during her years at the school was the training for teachers, parents and students on diverse topics such as bullying (detection and intervention in the classroom), social skills (empathy, assertiveness ...), training in sphincter control, resolution of conflict among peers, limits establishment (in school and at home), detection and attention to learning difficulties, self-esteem (what is and how to strengthen it), adolescence (what changes to expect, how to deal with them). Carmen moved to Madrid two years ago with the aim of continuing to conquer new professional challenges. To improve her skills, she decided to deepen her clinical training by completing the Master in General Health Psychology. Therefor she had the opportunity to complete her practice in Sinews. She had the occasion to observe her tutor, Itxaso Cembrero, both in the clinic and at the Kings College of Soto de Viñuelas, who at last supervise her work with her own cases. Her professionalism, previous experience and ability to approach the experiences of both parents and children or adolescents, supporting them through the challenges they face in everyday are the reasons why she was selected to join the team. Carmen shines with her own light. |
