Miriam Esquivel studied Organizational Psychology at IE University in an international environment that let her benefit from her years of language studies at UK and Canada. At the same time, studying in a prestigious business school as IE motivated her to take simultaneously a Minor in business Administration.

Over the four years at university, she combined her studies with a collaboration with the admissions department of her university, where she become the coordinator of the ambassadors’ team. In this role, Miriam started to be familiarized with administrative work and commercialization and marketing strategies, while she was in charge of event planning and the coordination of a team of more than 80 ambassadors.

It was in the fourth year of her degree when she chose Coaching and Positive Psychology as her specialization as a way to connect her major in organizational psychology with the clinical side of psychology.

A few months before her graduation, she was selected to join as a technician the Benchmarking Club of the HR Center of IE Business School. In this position, she worked in the evaluation of the performance of more than 100 HR departments that are interested in knowing better the strengths and weaknesses of their management. The HR Center analyzes more than 370 indicators that are clustered in 17 areas of study: work environment, selection, compensation and benefits, talent management, work-life balance, professional development, etc. Miriam was in contact to more than three hundred managers with the aim to evaluate the performance of their companies and to look for innovative solutions to the challenges and new trends in the HR area. In addition, her responsibilities extended to the technical direction of the “Premios Emprendedores y Empleo” organized by Diario Expansión in collaboration with IE Business School.

Once she got her Psychology Degree with a Minor in Business Administration and her specialization in Coaching and Positive Psychology, Miriam decided to continue her academic education with the Master in Clinical Psychology. This new specialization in the area of clinical psychology led her to SINEWS where she was accepted to do her internship after a demanding selection process. During almost a year, she observed our work and supervised by her tutor (Eva Herber) she designed the treatments of her patients. The efficacy with which she helped our clients to overcome their phobias, to fight against depression or to learn to manage their stress made us to invite her to join our team. She is currently coordinating the In Company Services at SINEWS. A perfect signing with a difficult combination to find between an HR professional and as specialist in clinical psychology.
