Schooled at Academia Británica de El Salvador where she realized her primary, secondary and completed her International Baccalaureate Valeria has been immersed in English language and British culture since her early childhood.

After being raised in an international enviroment, she decides to move to Spain, in order to study Speech and Language Therapy at Universidad Complutense de Madrid.

Her interest in speech develops after diverse volunteer work in El Salvador where she observed how children had limited opportunities because of their poor language and communication skills. Through her career Valeria dedicates her summer’s working with NGO’s, helping children with hearing loss, difficulties in speech, language and feeding difficulties.

While studying her career she decides to specialize in paediatric population and does her internship in “Maternidad del Hospital Gragorio Marañon” where she worked with premature babies with feeding difficulties during their nursing period. During her internship she also worked with children who suffer from specific language impairment, developmental delay. Hearing loss, learning difficulties, among others.

After concluding her studies she realises a summer internship in APSURIA, where she worked with adults who suffer from multiple disabilities, where she treats patients with feeding difficulties and language issues after strokes.

She currently combines her clinical work at SINEWS with her psychopedagogic labour in one of the educational establishments in charge of our team, where she has acquired conscience of the academic impact language difficulties have.
