Ana Beatriz Paredes|
Child, adolescent and adult speech therapy
Languages: English, Spanish and French
Her interest in speech therapy arose from her own experience. All of this made her realize the impact that learning difficulties can have on people’s lives, this being one of the main reasons why she decided to study speech therapy.
In 2010 she moved to Salamanca to obtain her degree. During her studies, she did her internship at the Clinical Service of Speech Therapy of the Pontifical University of Salamanca, working with children with language, reading and writing disorders and with adults with acquired brain injuries.
After finishing her studies, she decided to go back to El Salvador, where she worked as a speech therapist and teacher at the Lycée Français of San Salvador, treating primary school children with language, reading and writing difficulties in French. That job was combined with her work as a speech therapist in a private clinic, allowing her to expand her experience by working with child population presenting language delay and articulation disorders. During that time, she also provided at home services as a support teacher for children enrolled in the French system and as a speech therapist for children with articulation disorders, language delay and dyslexia.
In 2017 she decided to continue her studies with the intention of expanding her knowledge in swallowing disorders, so she moved back to Salamanca to do her postgraduate degree in Myofunctional Therapy.
Since 2018 Ana Beatriz lives in Madrid. Her interest in acquired brain injuries led her to do a master’s degree in Neurorehabilitation and completed her training with an internship at the Comprehensive Care Center for people with brain damage Polibea Sur.
